LIVERPOOL MUTUAL HOMES STEVE COFFEY EXPLOITS WORKERS FOR PROFIT..LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL KNOW ABOUT THIS MR COFFEY...SACKED LIVERPOOL WORKERS..
RyanairDontCare Campaign have been in contacted with sacked Liverpool Mutual Homes workers today on a Peaceful protest taking place in Liverpool...After talking and listening to their views outside Liverpool Mutual Homes head office regarding their reason for protesting, the word EXPLOITATION come to mind...Liverpool Mutual Homes CEO Steve Coffey walked past these Sacked workers with a very big smile on his face.As you can see from the photos below Mr Coffey's only interest is his £130,000 + salary and has no interest regarding these Sacked Workers who's lives have been wrecked by this man....
Liverpool City Council have got wind of the treatment by Mr Coffey of his sacked workers and have declined a contract to develop new homes in Liverpool...Sacked workers feel Liverpool City Council have done the right thing sending a very strong message to Mr Coffey yet do feel saddened as their co workers could themselves by a target to be sacked...Solidarity inside Liverpool Mutual Homes is high in support of these sacked workers but as a result,Mr Coffey and senior management have started to intimidate workers who want to support their sacked colleagues.....These bully boys tactics will not go unnoticed Mr Coffey and Peaceful Protests will continue from your SACKED workers.CEO of many companies (ie Ryanair's O'Leary included) you have no right to ill treat your workers....
Below are the words from the sacked workers..
URGENT HELP NEEDED TO SUPPORT SACKED LIVERPOOL WORKERS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colleagues,
We are 200 workers (UNITE-UCATT and GMB Members) originally employed by Liverpool City Council to undertake housing and repair services to people living in social housing in our city.Over the last ten years we have been TUPE transferred to various private companies and we successfully defended numerous attacks on our terms and conditions.
In June this year we were shocked to hear that our newest employer had gone into administration and we were all being made redundant. At the same time we were in negotiations with Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) to be TUPE transferred into a new company - Housing Maintenance Solutions,a subsidiary of LMH.
We were then informed by Liverpool Mutual Homes that the TUPE transfer was off but they would still engage the workforce.Yet again with Liverpool Mutual Homes, there was a major catch.
Liverpool Mutual Homes now said there is not enough work for the workforce and they are therefore making redundancies. We strongly reject this view as the workforce is already overstretched trying to meet the needs of thousands of people living in social housing across Liverpool.Furthermore we have evidence that Liverpool Mutual Homes are awarding work to Sub Contractors instead of retaining us.
Already 11 members have been unfairly selected and made redundant (in other words SACKED).5 of these have service in excess of 30 years. They were measured against a criteria set by the employer which deemed them unsuitable to carry out their jobs in the future..
It gets worse, one of the workers sacked by Liverpool Mutual Homes is UNITE Convenor of 26 years Sid Graves. We believe he has been targeted by Liverpool Mutual Homes Managers unhappy about his union activities and defence of workers he has represented over the years.
We have commenced an industrial action ballot and expect a positive result from the workforce to take industrial action. In anticipation of this we are asking for your support and the support of fellow trade unionists and the public in general.
Please support our members in their struggle for reinstatement by e-mailing or phoning and register your disgust here info@liverpoolmh.co.uk or 0300 123 2300 ....0800 678 1894
Thank you.
